Service Guidelines
- Use of the Texas A&M University’s Pressbooks is subject to the University’s rules on Texas A&M University Network Acceptable Use, and the Pressbooks Terms of Service. All content placed on the service must comply with Texas A&M University policies and local, state, and federal laws and may be subject to removal if it is found in violation. Content is the sole responsibility of its author(s).
- Texas A&M University students and faculty usually own the copyrights to their authored works, and can share them through Pressbooks (see more detail in University SAP 17.01.07.M0.01 Intellectual Property Management and Commercialization). The Texas A&M University System may own the copyrights to work created by some TAMU staff. For questions about ownership, or about using existing works, contact https://tamuip.tamu.edu/about/contact-us/. Pressbooks also provides a mechanism through which a blog author may license the content of their blog through a Creative Commons license. More information on Creative Commons licenses is available through the Creative Commons website.
- Make an effort to maximize the accessibility of any content you create on Pressbooks. The OER Accessibility Toolkit at the University of British Columbia provides several excellent suggestions on how to achieve accessibility.
- The University Libraries reserves the right to change, at any time and at our sole discretion, the provisions of this service.
